Happy 1st Birthday K!

I can't believe that K is one! His birthday was yesterday but we celebrated with a family party on Saturday. It was super fun to have all my siblings there! Here are some party highlights:

A picture with his Grandpa W

He had a GREAT first birthday! I totally think he got the present thing down better than S did. As soon as he saw each present, he smiled really big, like he knew they were for him. He LOVED the cake that my sweet A made (he has a lot of fun with their birthday cakes) He cried when we finally took it away from him.

Some of his one year highlights include:

loves to climb stairs
eating lots of different things pretty well
likes to hang out in the toy bucket with or without toys in it
loves to crawl in tight difficult places to get him out of (under tables, behind chairs)
loves his big brother and tries his best to copy him
likes to clap his hands and wave
will try to tap beats with his hands to music (only if you do it with him)
wresting with S in his crib
screams for attention, or when he needs more food (not fun in the car :0(
will snuggle his head on your shoulder when tired

He is such a sweet little boy! We are so glad to have him in our family. It is amazing to me how he is sooooooo different from S in so many ways already. It just proves that everyone is unique in their own little quirks in personality. It's funny because I have two boys so I can't say that one thing one does is a gender specific trait. They truly are just their own little beings. Anyways here is a little picture tribute to K's first year. We love that little guy!

We have moved!

We were finally able to close on our house at the end of August and we have been living in it since a week after our closing. We were very fortunate to have lots of help in painting, sanding, wall paper removing, ect. that the only rooms left to be painted are the bathrooms. There are a lot of areas to touch up with paint, but for the most part it is done! We love our house and feel relieved to finally own it. The boys are still adjusting, but overall they love it! We especially love having a yard to play in. Here are some exterior shots for now:

Interior shots to follow at a later date. We are having camera trouble. The switch from video back to pictures does not seem to work very well.

Crib hang-out

I love these pictures of them! They are both getting so big! I can't believe it. S loves spending time in K's crib just before bed. In fact, he would spend LOTS of time in there if it weren't for that awesome crib tent (that is one of my new favorite baby items of all time). At first S could unzip the crib tent and crawl in, but one night when a good friend put our kids to bed and baby-sat so we could have a date night, the next day I noticed she tucked the zipper all the way down in the pocket which guarentees no brotherly visits when we are not around. Its the best! So...sometimes they play with toys, but most times they like to wrestle (with adult supervision of course). I've never seen either of them laugh so much as when they play together. It is the best sound ever!

Anniversary and Summer Fun

So the big sad news is....we have NOT moved yet. We have not even closed yet. I don't want to go into details about how many times the dates have been moved or changed...so I will just post pictures of our new house when we are there.

On a happier note...Happy Anniversary to me and A this past Saturday! Six years! Wow! I can't believe it has been that long. We had a fabulous day! We went to an aquarium and had a delicious lobster dinner. It was great to spend the day with our little boys and some of A's family that has been visiting.

Here we are six years ago....

Here we are today. We are still so happy but with a bit more poundage. Anyways, I am so grateful to have met and married my husband. He is a wonderful man and a great father to our two boys. He is usually always smiley just like me (one of the reasons I was instantly attracted to him). He truly is my best friend and he understands me the best too. I know I made the right decision 6 years ago to get us to this point in our lives. I look forward to many more years of smiles and adventures ahead. (I really don't feel like doing another house adventure for awhile though :0)

So since we haven't moved or been busy unpacking, painting, ect. we have had some time to do some fun things with A's family. We have gone camping, blueberry picking, swimming, eating out, and shopping. It has been really great! Here is a little picture re-cap...(there are lots more pictures but I will save them and space them out a little bit)

Okay...I guess that was a lot of pictures anyway. Hopefully we will close on the house soon, right?

BIG 9 month stats and moving!

Okay, so I am realizing that July is almost over and I will have no posts. That is sad because there is so much going on, but I have not gotten the courage to blog about it yet for fear that it won't really happen.

The biggest news is...we are moving into our very own house in about 2 weeks! I still don't feel like it is going to happen, although I have a good portion of our things in boxes and bins. I think it won't feel final until after the closing.

I really pictured the experience of buying our first home to be a joyous and exciting adventure, but it has been sooooooooooooooo stressful that I can see why "buying a home" is listed on the top life stressor list. I am usually a very upbeat and positive person and I hate how down I have felt these last two and half months since we started the looking process. I don't like not smiling as much as I normally do and I am hoping to come out of my funk soon!

In other BIG news...we had K's 9 month apt. and he is in the 100th percentile for both height and weight. He weighs 25.2 lbs and is 30 3/4 inches long. What a chunker! He sure is busy these days with crawling, pulling himself up, and trying to do everything S does without fear. The safety issues with both of them is getting harder to handle. They are both getting more bruises and bumps these days. I think they are more cranky lately too, as they watch me slowly pack up all of our things. Well that is our life for now! We are excited for the big move to happen! Oh and if you have any spare boxes...they would be greatly appreciated!
