Happy Thanksgiving!

We have a lot to be thankful for this year. We had some tough trials last year as a young family. Without going into details...I am grateful to report that our experiences have only made us stronger and closer as we are on our way to better times ahead. I am grateful for the personal growth I have achieved from our misfortunes and I know that our experience has been a great blessing in disguise.

This year it was A's turn to spend it with some of his family and we spent it with two of his brothers and their families. It was great! The boys are champions after that extremely long car ride this summer, so one day was nothing compared to three long days like that! It was so nice to be taken care of in the ways of fabulous food, games, accommodations, and fun. We truly felt blessed to spend thanksgiving with these two wonderful families that I am so glad to be related too! I did not take pictures until the last night but my sister-in-law took some good ones in her post that sum up a lot of the good times we had! Here are my pictures: My favorites are the ones with K and his cousin. They sounded a lot alike and I had a hard time telling the screams apart. Pretty funny!

Happy Halloween!!!

We had a great Halloween this year! I think it continues to get better as the boys get older and can understand the concept more of trick or treating and getting dressed up in costumes. It was easy to convince them to be firefighters this year because we already had the costumes (hand me downs from my mom...thanks!) and they each had a stuffed dalmatian doggie already. Perfect accessories right? And they were good about me putting mustaches on them too (I think they look soooo cute and I did it last year when they were pirates) S did start saying he wanted to me Iron man and at one point he said he wanted to be a monster too...I guess next year we can let them decide, but they were good sports this year!

Pumpkin Patch

K and I got to go with S and his preschool class on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. The hayride was my favorite part because it was one of the longer hayrides I have ever been on at a pumpkin patch. We got to pick out three small pumpkins and had some delicious hot apple cider with chocolate chip cookies. Yum! I really liked this place and I am glad I know about it now for next year. We all had a good time! It was fun to see S interact with his preschool friends and his teachers.

I also included pictures of S carving the pumpkins with his daddy. I really should say he just watched because he did not want to touch the gooey insides of the pumpkins at all. Too funny!

Leaves are falling all around....

I am sooooo glad that our yard is small since we do have a lot of leaves from our big maple tree. I love watching the boys play in the leaves, so to me the raking is worth it. I also feel like raking leaves can be sort of therapeutic because you feel such a sense of accomplishment when the yard is all clean. We are loving fall!

Pumpkin Town

Again, this begins a series of posts where I have fallen behind. Here we go:
We had a fun playgroup to kick off our Halloween celebrating by going to Pumpkin Town. It was a nice crisp autumn day. My favorite type of fall weather! The kids were able to explore and run and enjoy themselves. Getting excited for Halloween!

Happy Birthday K!

This post is a little late. K turned 2 on September 28th. I can't believe it! We had a nice joint playgroup party with one of his good buddies during the week and then we had some family over the Sunday before his birthday. I love birthdays and it is really special to get together with family and friends to celebrate. Thanks everyone!

Here are some big two year old stats:

Height: 37 1/2 inches (100th percentile)
Weight: 35 lbs (100th percentile)

He is still getting those high numbers, but he seems to have thinned out of his baby fat. I guess he is just solid. He is doing great! He still loves to drink milk over anything else. He loves trains, cars, planes, dinosaurs, ect. He is ALL boy! If he is pushing a shopping cart at the library that has baby dolls in it, he takes all the dolls out and loads it up with blocks or balls before he pushes it. Too funny right? He doesn't like to be by himself especially when S is at school. He now offically throws two-year old tantrums but we are working on that ;0) He still takes long naps, which range from 2-4 hours depending on the day and time we get him down. He loves to read books with you and he is learning lots of two word phrases and using them everyday. We all just love our little K!

First Day of Pre K!!!

S started school today! I can't believe he is old enough for that. He goes three days a week and gets a bus to and from school. I LOVE it! When S got his backpack on, K came out with that Buzz lunch box that is filled with their Disney character toys. We thought it was pretty funny and cute how much he likes to do what S does! K was so calm (after he cried and found out he wasn't going on the bus too) this morning after S left. He likes having all the toys to himself. We ran a few errands as well, and it was so nice to just have one little boy with me. K was more his usual almost 2 year old self on the outings, but it was easier to handle since it was just him. S was home from school before I knew it, and he seemed to have had a good day and his teacher called me and told me he followed the routines and he was all smiles! Thats our big boy! We are so proud of him! Hope this year will go well for all of us! :0)
