With S's birthday on Sat. it was a very busy weekend for Easter. We colored eggs on Friday with one of my sisters and then on Sunday we went to my mom's house for Easter dinner. It was good to see all of my siblings during the weekend and spend good quality time together. We also sang and had more cake for the birthday boys again! What a wonderful holiday and I am so grateful for our savior Jesus Christ and the glorious miracle of his resurrection. Happy Easter!
Our little S turned three on April 3. We had a big family birthday party at my dad's house to celebrate. My brother has a birthday the day before S which is always fun. I remember joking with him when I talked to him on his birthday saying "wouldn't it be funny if I had the baby right around your birthday?" My due date with S was not until April 19. It was pretty funny that I ended up going into labor the very next morning!
I can't believe he is really three! He is still such a happy and smiley boy. He loves to help out whenever he can. He loves going places especially to ride the carousel at the mall! S really likes airplanes, robots, cars, trains, and playing outside. He got a new bike for his birthday that he is still a little unsure of, but he will grow into more someday. He really likes to play with his brother and they have become good little buddies. We are so grateful to have S in our family and we are so proud of the big boy he has become!
S has not been one to really enjoy wearing hats. We went shopping a little while ago and we went into a hat store. We found a Red sox one for him and at first he didn't seem to like it, but then he put it on by himself and he put it on backwards. We were just laughing and laughing because he started to do a funny little dance too! We tried to have him wear it the right way, but oh no, he just kept fixing it on backwards! So funny. Of course K likes to copy so we have some of him wearing the hat too!
So those winter pictures from Feb. were getting really depressing to look at...now that it is officially spring! These pictures were taken a few weeks ago when it was first nice enough to play outside again. We still needed jackets, but it was a beautiful preview to the nice weather we are truly enjoying now! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having a yard to play in this spring! :0)
K is almost 17 months now and I can't find my little books with their stats in them from the doctors. He last went at 15 months and I don't know where they went. So I can sort of remember that he weighed 28 lbs and the rest I'm not sure. The bigger news for him is that he is walking now! He was getting it down a little bit before Christmas, but now he is on the move. I like it better than crawling because you don't have to bend so far to pick them up, but you do have to be fast to catch them. It's also nice in places like doctor's offices, ect. where they won't be crawling all over the floor and people potentially stepping on them. K is a bit of a screamer when he wants something like food, getting down, going outside, ect. His favorite word seems to be "Da-da" for daddy and he kind of mumbles "mmmma" for mommy. We are always amazed at how much he thinks he can do because he sees S doing it too. (We forsee having to watch him VERY closely this spring and summer at playgrounds) He is a sweet boy who loves to take a 3-4 hour nap each day and still sleep almost 12 hours each night. I think its a big growth spurt or something and I keep thinking he'll go back to 2 or 2 1/2 hours, but he doesn't. I guess I won't complain! :0)
Other K news....we cut his baby sweet hair for the first time. He looks so much older, but it was getting so long in the back that I could do a ponytail if I wanted to. :0) Now I feel like his baby days are truly over and we have a toddler. These are some after pictures. All of our other pictures of the actual haircut are on A's phone. (coming soon)
We had some snow this past week and we had a great time playing outside. They both really like it. S especially loves throwing the snow. Next week begins the birthdays for many people in my family including me! Can't wait!
