Our Smiley big boy is FOUR!

Yes it is true! S is now officially four as of April 3. We had General Conference this weekend for church and it is hard to get/plan a big celebration during Conference, so we just did a family party with cake and presents and we will have his party with family and friends this weekend. He had a great day! It is so fun now that he is getting older to see him really understand what happens on your birthday. He LOVED all his presents and was so good at posing for all the pictures! He is really into Legos now, but only if his Daddy is around to help him build and create things (Legos are not a strong suit of mine
;0) He also really likes Star Wars, although he has never seen any movies, but we go down that aisle a lot at Target so now he knows the characters and what a light saber is, ect. Daddy also will tell him some pretty cool Star War adventure stories before bedtime. I think his favorite present was the set of three nerf guns (so he could easily share one with K). It was a good day for him and a great weekend for us as we were able to listen/watch our leaders of our church share inspiring messages and wisdom.

On Monday this week they celebrated S's birthday at school. He wore a birthday sticker and he came home with a birthday crown. He loved the cupcakes I made, which made me feel like a million dollars since he was so proud that his mom made them for his friends! They were chocolate with green frosting and blue sprinkles. He picked everything out himself and helped with lining the pans with the papers and mixing the batter with the mixer. What a great helper!

Other wonderful things about our big four year old:
He still smiles almost always! I love that about him!
He is doing very well in school and is talking a lot more clearly and saying a lot more too! We are very grateful for the program that he is in.
He plays really well by himself and with K (most of the time) ;0)
He likes to know the plan each day and is very much about sticking to the plan, which helps me be more organized too!
He is a great oldest child and we feel so blessed to have him in our family!

Fun Day Trip

A couple weekends ago, one of A's sisters was close by just for a couple of days and we got to see her in New York City. We went on a super long walk through Central Park to get to the zoo only to discover it was closing up for the day, so we only saw the seals or sea lions (it was hard to tell and we weren't close enough to read the sign) Then we just had fun walking through FAO Schwarz. I also asked to get my picture taken with an all purple carriage that went through the park. The driver was so nice to let me get a picture without going on the ride! :0) It was a fast trip, but a fun one! We love to see family when they are that close! Enjoy our fun pictures!

Happy News!

I haven't blogged about this yet, but I am 20 weeks pregnant and we are due on the 23rd of June. We have been really excited and today the news just gets better...we had the ultrasound and we are having...a GIRL! I can't believe the good news. If you know me at all, you would know that I have always wanted to have a girl, at least one, in my mix of kids. I love my two boys so much and I know they were meant to be in our family, but I am just so super excited about having a daughter! My heart is so full of happiness and joy. Life doesn't get much better than this.

Happy Snow!

So far this winter we have had a lot of snow. The boys (all three of mine, including A) have been loving it! We don't have any sleds for them, but they have loved making snowmen, a snow fort, and snow angels. It is also so nice to be able to get them outside to play in the snow instead of being stuck inside, which feels like we are a lot of the time. Here are some fun pictures of the snow right after Christmas. We have had a lot more snow since then, but I don't have those pictures uploaded to my computer yet.

So its been a long time since I posted, but I will start with a Christmas related post before its February! We went to see Santa Claus this year and the line was really the worst part. K has a new favorite way of flopping on the ground if you need to hold his hand to keep him where he needs to be. We took turns holding him, then we let him just sit on the ground. That worked much better. When we finally made it in and saw Santa, it was worth the wait. They were both so cute and excited. It is the best feeling to see that Christmas magic reflected in their eyes and it brings it all back for me too!





Then we have some attempts at holiday photos for our Christmas card. They both were getting silly and they loved to cover their faces right before the picture would take! These were taken on two different days. (S then decided he liked the red sweater better, and since they were the same size, it didn't matter)

We spent Christmas Eve at my mom's house and I didn't take too many pictures, but we did get some with all the boys (my mom's three, our two, and my step-sister's little baby boy). We were missing one of my sister's this year and my step-brother with his little baby girl. We had a really nice night. Our boys love going to my mom's house to play, so they had a blast and they had a really hard time leaving (lots of crying as we pulled away).






Christmas morning was with just our little family and it was so wonderful! The boys were truly excited and loved opening all their presents and finding treats and little toys in their stockings. We did stockings first and then we had breakfast. Santa brought them each a special cereal to unwrap at their spots at the table. The only pictures we took that whole day were these two from breakfast. We took a lot of videos while they opened presents. We went to my dad's house for dinner and we didn't take any pictures. I forgot too, I guess. But we did have a nice time! Merry merry Christmas! :0)
